Super Mario Movie Starring Chris Pratt Postponed!

    The new animated movie of the Super Mario game series developed by Nintendo in 1985 has been postponed to a later date. The news that the highly anticipated production was delayed for years was given on the company’s Twitter account.

    Nintendo, which wanted to keep the video game Super Mario, which was developed years ago and played by millions of people of all ages since the 1990s, in an animated movie, made exciting statements for the animated movie in the third quarter of last year. The film, whose foundation was laid in 2017 and after which information was not revealed for a long time, came to the fore again in the autumn months of 2021. Announcing that the new movie will be released on December 21, 2022 at the Nintendo Direct event held at that time, the company postponed the vision date today.

    Nintendo, which brought it to life in cooperation with the American animated film production company  Illumination, shared Super Mario Bros. with a Tweet it shared today. announced that the movie has been delayed. Super Mario Bros., is one of the iconic games of both the company and the series. Unfortunately, we won’t be able to watch the movie this year.

    Super Mario Bros. movie postponed to 2023

    Miyamoto, the creator of Super Mario, announced that the release date of the movie was delayed as a result of the joint decision taken by Chris Meledandri, the CEO of the animation studio Illumination, together with him, in his post on his Nintendo America account. Miyamoto, who apologized to the fans, also said that the movie was worth the wait.

    Accordingly, Super Mario Bros. was announced to be released on December 21, 2022. The movie was delayed to April 7, 2023 in the US and April 28, 2023 in Japan. Starring  Chris Pratt, the movie also features actors such as Anya Taylor-Joy and Jack Black. In addition, it should not be overlooked that the studio that shot the film, Illumination, had previously produced films such as Despicable Me and Minions.

    Nintendo, which did not give reasons for the postponement decision, had previously made two feature film adaptations. The first of these was the anime movie ” Super Mario Bros.: The Great Mission to Rescue Princess Peach! “, which was released only in Japan in 1986 for the game released in  1985, while the second was the 1993 action movie Super Mario Brothers. The film, which will arrive in 2023, will be the third production of the company.
