Apple announced that its revenue in the first quarter of 2022 increased by 9% compared to the same period of the previous year, reaching $ 97.3 billion. The company’s net profit also increased by 6% to $25 billion. In its report, Apple announced that phone and computer sales increased, while tablet sales decreased. The company stated that iPhone sales amounted to $50.6 billion, iPad sales of $7.6 billion, and Mac sales of $10.4 billion.
Amazon made a loss for the first time in years
E-commerce giant Amazon has announced that it has made a loss in a quarter, breaking new ground since 2015. Although the company announced that its revenue increased by 7% compared to the same period of the previous year and reached 116.4 billion dollars, it announced a loss of $ 3.8 billion in net profit. Amazon Chief Executive Andy Jassy attributed this to the unusual growth and challenges brought on by the epidemic and the war in Ukraine.
Intel sales fell
Intel announced that its revenue in the first quarter of 2022 decreased by 7% compared to the same period of the previous year and was realized as 18.4 billion dollars. However, the company’s profit increased by 141% compared to the same period, reaching $ 8.1 billion. Intel also announced that its sales have decreased in the last three months.
