The Best Cars of the Year Announced! (Tesla Loses Best Electric Car Award)

As part of the New York Auto Show, one of the biggest automobile events in the world, the ‘World’s Best Cars of the Year’ awards found their owners. Hyundai’s new electric vehicle Ioniq 5 left its mark on the awards distributed in different categories.

Owning a car has become very difficult due to the economic problems in our country, high dollar exchange rate and taxes. In addition, the worldwide chip crisis and supply problems caused disruptions in automobile production. Even so, giant companies continued to launch their brand new models.

Now, the 2022 International New York Auto Show, where these cars are exhibited, has arrived. The fair, which could not be held physically in previous years due to COVID-19, managed to become the center of attention of automobile lovers as it will be held face-to-face this year. Incoming news showed that the winners of the ‘Cars of the Year in the World’ awards were announced at the event, which will last until April 24.

According to the statements, the ‘ Car of the Year in the World ‘ award, which Volkswagen’s electric model ID 4 won last year, went to the SUV vehicle Hyundai Ioniq 5, which is also an electric model this year. The Ioniq 5 model, which you can find in the details of the South Korea-based giant company here, has managed to surpass the Kia EV6 and Ford Mustang Mach-E, which were shortlisted for this award.

The vehicle, which has received worldwide acclaim since its launch and was transferred to our country this year, also surpassed Audi E-Tron GT and Kia EV6 and received the ‘Best Design of the Year’  award. Standing out with its cheaper price compared to its competitors, the Ioniq 5 also won the ‘Best Electric Vehicle of the Year’ award, leaving behind the Mercedes EQS and Audi E-Tron GT. It was also noteworthy that Tesla, the world’s largest electric vehicle manufacturer, could not make it to the finals in this category.
