Intel Announces New Processors That Will Make Laptops Fly

    Intel has announced its new processors designed for laptops. The processors called the 12th generation Intel Core HX and specially designed for games and software that require high power, will be released in 2022.

    US-based semiconductor giant Intel announced its latest laptop processors at an event it organized. The processors, which appear as the 12th generation Intel Core HX series, will have i5, i7 and i9 models. According to the company’s statements, the new laptop processors will be preferred by consumers who like to play games, especially with programs that require high performance. So what do Intel’s new processors promise to the consumer?

    According to the statements made by Intel, the 12th generation Intel Core HX series processors are designed to handle many challenging tasks at the same time. Mentioning that these processors are also supported by new generation technologies such as PCIe Gen 5.0, Intel officials say that this way, consumers will be offered the best possible experience. 

    New processors come with 8 high-performance cores 

    When we look at the technical details of Intel’s new processors, we see that these processors have a total of 16 cores, 8 of which offer high performance. The number of threads in the processors was announced as 24. The remarkable aspect of the processors, which have 55 watts of power consumption, is that they are unlocked and allow overclocking. Intel states that this is a first in the industry. Features such as DDR5/LPDDR5 up to 128GB, RAM up to 5200MHz and Intel Wi-Fi 6/6E are also included in the 12th generation Intel Core HX processors.

    Other things to know about Intel’s new processors:

    12th generation Intel Core HX processors will offer speeds in the 2.0 GHz to 5.0 GHz range. The most powerful processor in the series will be the Intel Core i9-12950HX. The processor, which will also provide overclock support, can be used at 5.0 GHz.

    The Core i9-12900HX model, which is the version of the Intel Core i9-12950HX that does not offer overclock support, will be ahead of its competitors in both single-core and multi-core processes. The processor, which will make a difference, especially in multi-core processors, offers a 64 per cent performance increase compared to its competitors.

    Intel also gave statistics on the gaming performance of its new processors. Accordingly, when Intel Core i9-12900HX is used with NVIDIA GeForce RTX3080 Ti GPU and 64 GB DDR5 RAM; Up to 128fps in Far Cry 6, up to 149fps in Forza Horizon 5, up to 151fps in Hitman 3: Dartmoor, up to 142fps in The Riftbreaker, Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege’ It can also support up to 472 fps.

    According to Intel’s statements, 12th generation Intel Core HX processors will appear in more than 10 models of business partners such as Dell, HP and Lenovo. According to Intel, laptops equipped with these processors will be released in 2022.
