A new security breach has occurred in the tech world. Microsoft has become the new victim of the world-famous hacking group.
Once again, there has been a security breach in the world of technology. After many technology companies, including Samsung and Nvidia companies, the last victim was Microsoft. Data theft hacking group Lapsus$ allegedly accessed Microsoft’s Azure DevOps source code repositories and stole data from the company, this time. Here are the details!
Lapsus$ hacked internal source code repositories
After many technology companies, including Samsung and Nvidia companies, the last victim was Microsoft. Lapsus$ usually targets the source code repositories of big tech companies. After stealing the data, the group pays back the data to the companies themselves for millions of dollars.
Finally, Lapsus$ posted a screenshot in a Telegram chat on Sunday, stating that they hacked Microsoft’s Azure DevOps server. The screenshot consists of an image of the Azure DevOps repository with the source code for Cortana as well as many Bing projects such as Bing_Test_Agile , Bing_STC-SV and Bing_UK .
It is thought that the group did not hide the initials ‘ IS ‘ in the screenshot to let one of Microsoft’s employees know the identity of the hacked account . It also led to the idea that these letters were mocking previous victims of the group.
The post they shared was removed minutes later and replaced with the message ‘ Deleted for now, will be re-uploaded later ‘. Despite this, security researchers saved and shared the post.
The company has not yet confirmed whether the Azure DevOps account has been breached by the group. However, a Microsoft spokesperson said : “We are aware of the allegations and are investigating. ” said. After the company completes its investigation into Lapsus$’s allegations, we will be able to obtain more information from Microsoft about the potential breach.
